Food and Drink - be inspired to try a taste of Rousay!

The Orkney Islands as a whole is well-known for its excellance in serving up fresh, tasty seafood of the finest quality, sourced from the surrounding waters. Locally-grown meats have that unique Orkney flavour, while crops such as potatoes are found in abundance on Rousay.

Here on Rousay, we invite you to enjoy such fine produce:

As you arrive in Rousay, you will discover The Crafthub. Situated at the Ferry Terminal, you can enjoy light refreshments at The Crafthub (adjoining a craft shop), while overlooking the ferry as it arrives in Rousay, and be amazed by superb views over to the nearby island of Wyre. On a sunny day, sit outside on the picnic benches and enjoy a beverage and snack while you wait for the ferry to arrive.

The Taversoe is a 3-star inn, featuring an on-site restaurant and public bar. Situated in an idyllic location opposite the beautiful walk up to the chambered cairn, Knowe of Yarso, you can enjoy homecooked meals whilst admiring the panoramic view from the wide window in the dining room.

But if you want to take the taste of Rousay back home with you, then Marion's Shop is the place to go. The homegrown strawberries are a particular favourite, while Orkney produce such as fudge, ice-cream, potatoes, meat and wine are also available to purchase.
